American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) – AIHEC, a key partner of the SW CASC, was established in 1972 in order to represent the interests of tribal colleges. Among other resources, a key opportunity they provide is the Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) Program. AIHEC is continually seeking tribal environmental programs, inter-tribal organizations, and Tribal Colleges & Universities (TCUs) to host full-time VISTA members who carry a range of skills including research, planning, field work, meeting facilitation, etc. VISTAs can help provide capacity for community-driven projects that address pressing local climate change concerns.
