Anita JT ​​​Govert

Anita was responsible for programmatic management, focusing on the elements of research budgetary oversight and strategic logistical processes that supported the successful execution of the SW CASC. The SW CASC is one of only nine national Department of Interior/USGS funded Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs). The SW CASC’s mission is to work with natural and cultural resource managers to develop and deliver scientific information and techniques to anticipate, monitor, and adapt to climate change in the southwestern United States. Anita filled the role of UA administrative nexus for multiple partner institutions, including Colorado State University, Desert Research Institute, Scripps Institution of Oceanography @ UC San Diego, University of California - Davis, University of California - Los Angeles, University of Nevada - Las Vegas, Northern Arizona University and Utah State University. The research team is comprised of 14 investigators and approximately 30 affiliated staff. Anita retired from her role in July 2026.
