The University of Arizona recently received renewed funding to continue hosting the SW CASC, which is a partnership between the U.S. Geological Survey and a consortium of research institutions in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah (https://www.swcasc.arizona.edu/news/2018/10/sw-casc-receives-45-million-continued-research). The SW CASC invites University of Arizona faculty to participate in an informational session about the renewed hosting agreement, our scientific focus, and opportunities that the center plans to provide to UA faculty and students, as well as natural resource practitioners and Native American natural resource managers in the region. In this one-hour session, we will address and invite discussion about the following:
• What is the SW CASC?
• In what ways can University of Arizona faculty participate in the long-term plans and activities of the SW CASC?
• What fellowships and travel funding are available for faculty, graduate students and post-docs, through the SW CASC?
• When do we anticipate the next USGS SW CASC funding RFP…and…when might Statements of Interest be due?
