The 2022 SWTCCS will build upon key takeaways from the 2019 SWTCCS held in Idyllwild, CA. In 2022, we will once again bring together Tribal leaders, professionals, and community members from across the Southwest to explore the kinship with fire and its role in community, conservation, and climate change adaptation while putting our own unique twist with hands-on activities, networking, and professional training opportunities.
This event will be a three-day gathering, with engaging discussions and activities centered around the kinship with fire and its role in community, conservation, and climate change adaptation. Summit attendees are encouraged to stay at the Pala Casino Spa and Resort located in Pala, CA from May 16-18, 2022. Booking and travel information will be provided upon registration confirmation.
Registration is required for this interactive, leadership-style retreat. Tribal professionals, community members, and staff receive priority registration. All others interested in attending the Summit will fill out a brief application linked within the registration pathway, and be notified by the SWTCCS planning team upon application acceptance with instructions to complete the registration process.
The registration fee ($75) for accepted applicants is due in April; the SWTCCS planning team will provide payment instructions in the coming months.
